The filter is located in the exhaust system of the vehicle and accompanies the catalytic converter. It is built like a honeycomb with a large wall area on which soot particles settle. It can be made of metal or ceramic materials. Its high efficiency has a very positive effect on environmental protection.

DFP is most often used in German cars. It is used by brands such as Volkswagen, BMW, Skoda, Audi and Toyota. In the dry filter on the walls there are particles of aluminium oxide, cerium and platinum, which oxidise the poisonous substances contained in the exhaust gases. DPF is known as a passive regeneration system.
Contact UsFAPs are mainly used by French companies - Citroen, Peugeot, Renault and also Nissan. The operation of wet filters requires the use of a catalytic fluid. This fuel additive neutralises soot at lower temperatures than DFP. As a result, the filter burns out and turns the soot into ash.

Regeneration with wet filters is called active regeneration. It is initiated by the engine control unit which detects the degree of filter filling. In the FAP system, it is necessary to use properly developed fuel additives, which are dosed using a computer. Clogged filters require cleaning and, over time, replacement with new ones.
Contact UsPurchase of diesel particulate filters - DPF and FAP Our company is also interested in purchasing diesel particulate filters. They are an additional element that stops the emission of harmful substances to the environment and supports the work of catalysts. Their operation is based on catching carbon particles from the exhaust gas, collecting them and successively burning them.
Generally, filters are divided into dry and wet ones. Dry filters are called DPF (diesel particulate filter) for short, and wet filters are called FAP (filtre à particules) and are used by various groups of car companies. Their use was initiated by another European emission standard. Observations show that FAPs wear out faster than DFPs.
